Fess Parker.

August 16, 1924 - March 18, 2010

Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier was one of my most favorite movies EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER when I was little. I'm pretty sure I saw it at least 100 times before I was five. I adored Davy Crockett and the River Pirates as well. He was just the coolest.

Rest in Peace.

I grew up watching Daniel Boone and later Davy Crockett. It is sad knowing Mr. Parker is gone. Godspeed.

We loaned this movie from some friends of ours when I was younger and we watched it to death. They were literally begging us to give it back to them. We finally did...after (I kid you not) we were able to recite the movie! I still remember the beginning: "Major, Major Norton, where's that backwood scout I told you about." Okay, not a direct quote but you get the idea. I feel like such a nerd for admitting my family's addiction to Davy Crockett. Anyway, sorry about the super-long comment. I thought I would comment even though this is an old post. Hopefully that's not weird...

Not weird at all. I completely understand odd Davy Crockett obsessions! Hahaha!
