The Results Are In...

The results to my poll: Which of these actors was the most annoying?

Coming in as the least most annoying was Jimmy Stewart with one vote (his not making it farther is a tragedy. I mean he could have at least surpassed Cornel Wilde?).

In fourth place is Cornel Wilde with two votes.

Tied for third/second are the intensely annoying Katherine Hepburn and Randolph Scott (Question is there anybody who likes this guy? I've never met one!) each with three votes.

^If this picture does NOT show to you how annoying he is, I don't know what will. BTW, is it just me or does he seem to have a pair of Klingon eyebrows? Hehehe, I'm SO mean!

And the winner...the most annoying of the most annoying is:

Perky (a little TOO perky) June Allyson with 6 votes!

The Results Are In...

The results to my poll: "Who has the most genius among these".

The five candidates were five people who I personally think had the greatest genius!

I have chosen photos which I feel highlight their genius.

Coming in fifth place with 1 vote is the inimitable Bobby Darin:

(Okay, he didn't actually get a vote, but because it was impossible for me to choose the greatest from among those greats, I withheld and gave my vote to the single person on the list who received no votes...My darlin' Bobby.)

Bobby was a genius (contrary to popular opinion, I see). He tackled pretty much every single entertainment medium and conquered it. He wrote amazing music, was legendary performing, acted (Oscar nominated), and generally went through life doing great things at every turn. Read my more in depth post on him here.

Coming in fourth place with 2 votes was genius-of-the-highest-grade: Rod Serling!

Mr. Serling was too much of a genius for words. I mean, seriously, Twilight Zone...Night Gallery...no mere human could think of things like that! And his voice was pretty cool too.

Coming in third place with 4 votes is the iconic Frank Sinatra.

I really don't feel like any words are necessary for Mr. Sinatra. He was Sinatra. He is a part of America...and probably will be...forever!

In second place with 5 votes is the legendary Orson Welles.

(I chose this particular photo, because Orson is so into what he is doing...it perfectly shows off his genius.)
Orson Welles is legendary. He lived his whole life at full speed. And whenever he stopped to use just a little of his genius...it was a remarkable thing. His name is synonymous with genius. In fact, his nickname was boy-genius after he completed his first film, Citizen Kane at age 25.

And in first place with 9 votes is........................................

Alfred Hitchcock!

Hitchcock often spoke of "playing the audience like an organ". That is the kind of power he wielded. He deservedly got first place (although I was rooting for all of them), for there never will be another Hitchcock. A person who so easily unites critical and popular success together. Amazing! In one particular episode of his TV show Alfred Hitchcock Presents, he says, "If I won't be myself, who will?" The quote is so true. There would a great void left in the world without an Alfred Hitchcock!

Kate-Gabrielle brought to my attention that my poll was missing one of the great genius'. And she was right. Mr. Charlie Chaplin was a great genius. Although not in my personal top five (like the other gentlemen) he was still so fantastically innovative and remarkable that he MUST be mentioned. So here's to Mr. Chaplin...another great!

I chose this above photo because if any Hollywood actor (especially an actor famous for slapstick comedy) ever decided to meet and talk with Gandhi...it could most definitely only be Chaplin. ;-D

The Results Are In...

The results to my poll: "If you were sick which film would you want to watch?" are in.

Coming in last place with 0 votes was the only silent on the list: City Lights

Four other films managed to sneak by with 1 vote each:

All About Eve (I have a hunch this one was saved by Lolita)

Casablanca

Singin' In The Rain (My youngest brother wishes to express his thanks to the person who voted)

His Girl Friday (This one tops the list of my favorite comedies and I often watch it when I am sick, but it's not my absolute, absolute favorite sick film.)

The next candidate, Anything Hitchcock got a little farther with 2 votes. I know it isn't exactly a single film, but really it is hard to choose just one Hitchcock to watch!

Two films received 3 votes each:

The Thin Man

And Roman Holiday

The grandest epic ever made (and one of my personal least favorites) Gone With The Wind finished with a respectable 4 votes.

Coming in second place with 5 votes is It Happened One Night

And the winner with an impressive 7 votes (considering how many choices there were) is none other than the fabulous film noir:

Laura

I actually don't remember which one I voted for. It was either IHON or Laura. Both are indispensable when I'm sick. As are many of those on the above list. I tried to include films from many genres: Comedy, drama, epic, musical, Hitchcock (truly his own genre), romance, film noir.

Hope to see you again in my next poll!

The results are in...

The results to my poll "Your Favorite?" are here.

The choices were three films that Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly starred in:
Anchors Aweigh (1945), Take Me Out To The Ball Game (1949), and On The Town (1949)

In third place with 3 votes was Anchors Aweigh.

In second place with 4 votes was Take Me Out To The Ball Game (I swear that title is a pain to write...too many words..;-D).

Frank and Gene with Jules Munshin.

And in first place (also my personal choice, but don't worry I only voted once) with 6 votes:

On The Town!

L-R Vera Ellen, Gene Kelly, Ann Miller, Jules Munshin, Betty Garret, and Frank Sinatra.

Notice the resemblance? Ann does.

I seriously adore all these films, but "OTT" I adore just a little bit more.

Anyways, thanks for voting and do vote on my next poll!

The results are in...

The results to my poll, "Who was cooler?" are in...

Incidentally that was supposed to say who IS cooler, but when I tried to edit it, it went berserk and wouldn't let me change it!

Anyways...

In second (aka LAST) place is Paul Simon with 1 vote...

And the winner is...............with four votes...........................

Art Garfunkel!

Art was my personal choice! Paul Simon is wonderful (and very talented), but there is something about Art (perhaps it's the hair) that makes him infinitely cooler.

There are three main reasons why I love Art:

1. He is part of Simon and Garfunkel.

2. Everybody always says, Paul is better and more talented...naturally I take up the cause of the lesser-loved.

3. He guest starred as a singing moose on an episode of Arthur I used to watch over and over as a child. He endeared himself to me at right that moment. Plus I knew he had something to do with one of my favorite songs, "Homeward Bound". I've often wondered if I was a strange five-year-old.

But, no matter who won this contest (although I am pleased) everyone knows both were better together!

I have also included for your pleasure THE episode of Arthur, which actually was the only children's show I used to watch. I refused all others. I once walked away from an episode of Barney at the age of four because it had no plot nor story-line...and Sesame Street was quite out of the question (I really was strange...;-D).

The Ballad of Buster Baxter as sung by the Singing Moose (aka Art Garfunkel).

The results are in…

The Results for my poll: "Who is your favorite member of the Rat Pack" are in.

Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop both finish with 1 vote a piece.

Followed by Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. with two votes each.

And the magnificent and not-at-all-surprising winner is.....

Frank Sinatra with 10 votes!

I personally voted for Mr. Sinatra. I also gave a vote for Joey. And that is simply because I always feel sorry for him. He never, ever gets remembered! A simple Google Image search for Rat Pack pics came up with these:

Poor Joey!

Anyways, if you want to find out which member of the Rat Pack you are, take one or both of these quizzes. I liked the second one better.

QUIZ 1

QUIZ 2

Strangely enough, on both quizzes I showed up as Joey Bishop...is not a good omen...or maybe that's why I relate to him? ;-D

Now, for a couple Rat Pack pics (try saying that ten times fast), with Joey included (even though I think Frank's the coolest...followed by Peter...then Joey...then Sammy....................................................then Dean):

From "Ocean's 11" Definitely the "definitive" Rat Pack movie!

Ladies just love Rat-Packers!

The gangs all here...and Sammy's the center of attention!

Okay, this is NOT Joey-included, but neither is Peter. Just the "important" Rat's.

Thanks to all who voted in the poll! You did good.
