Let's Say It With Firecrakers! Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everybody!

Photo of the Day!

Because of it being the 4th, I almost took a one day hiatus from my Orson Welles theme. But, then I decided that Orson is truly a part of America. When I hear his name a lot of different words/phrases come to mind. But, one of them is always "American Icon". Orson is almost a symbol of the American spirit. He was after all a confident, young genius...one that so obviously could have only been born in America.

Coming later today:

A couple of posts detailing my top ten movies in some quintessentially American genres: Screwball Comedies and Westerns

Lovely Lady of the Week: Inger Stevens

My Lovely Lady of the week is Inger Stevens.

Inger was an absolutely gorgeous lady from Sweden (an amazing country which also can boast about Ingrid Bergman, Greta Garbo, and Lolita).

I must confess I really haven't seen Inger in too much. But, ever since I first saw her a few years ago in a Twilight Zone episode...I have never forgotten her. The episode was titled The Hitchhiker. Besides that fact that it is an amazing story and superbly acted, I was even more struck by the sheer beauty of Inger. She was so gorgeous...but also so natural... I have seen her in other TV shows (most notably Bonanza and another Twilight Zone episode) and she was in several famous films which I AM gonna watch (despite the fact that she almost always co-starred with a variety of my least favorite actors). She also was the star of the TV show The Farmer's Daughter, which I have not had the privilege to watch.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this tribute to this extremely lovely lady who led a tragic life and died much too young.

Also, C. Parker over at Starlet Showcase wrote a very nice post about Inger, which I stumbled upon last week while searching for a specific photo. Check it out!

Enjoy:

^Don't you just love those cute little pants?

Do you agree? Inger was amazingly beautiful!

I will be updating this soon!

Photo of the Day!

The theme of the week is: Orson Welles!

Orson Welles with a dastardly smile as he looks at the short, blonde locks of Rita Hayworth.

I also just wanted to thank everyone who commented on my food blog post! Yesterday started out being a completely awful day! But, then I checked my blog and I saw all those new comments! It seriously brightened my day considerably! I just finished responding to each comment, but I really just wanted to thank all you guys right here too! THANKS!
